Vegas

So Wow! I got a chance to go to Vegas back in February, (finally). And boy did I have a ball. It was my first time going to Vegas and the experience was all that and then some. I actrually got to perform at an amazing Venue along with some amazing Jazz singers. The energy was awesome. I felt like I had arrived. I had a wonderful shaparone my agent, Winston Sanders, who took really, really good care of me throughout the entire trip.

Though I did get pretty sick during the visit, I still got up to the stage and did my thing. It was probably not my best performance but I still felt pretty good about it. I learned that I can do what I need to no matter how I feel or how nervous and intimidating the circumstances. All in all I got to check out some of the best performers in Vegas and definately took notes. Apart from it being great fun, the trip to Vegas was a great learning experiences. One that I won't mind having again real, real soon!

~JagWonder

SESAC News

Ok! So I've just been accepted as a member of SESAC!!! I'm ecstatic! What's SEASAC you ask? It's only the most selective of the three Performing Rights Agencies in the US. ASCAP and BMI are the other two. Why am I soooooo....ooo excited? It's because I was turned down the 1st time I tried to join as a writer/publisher by trying to promote an artist I was managing! The SESAC rep strongly advised me to work on my own music! So I did! I went back to him with my CD a week ago and he actually said that he was impressed! I was even more honored when he asked me to authograph my CD! The icing on the cake? He displayed it prominently among Day 26 "PDiddy's group" and Michael Jackson, just to name a couple. Now how Kool is that? Just goes to prove what I always say! Want something done right..... See you Soon!

Never ever giving up your dreams!!!

~JagWonder~

Haiti Crisis Add Your Thoughts Information etc...

I don't know about you but I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed by the recent earthquake in Haiti. I experienced a sense of loss and hopelessness. I spoke to a couple of my Haitian freinds the day after the news of the the earthquake and I found that they were pretty much feeling the same way. Perhaps even worse since they have lost family and freinds. Dealing with the damage of their native land has dealt a damaging blow to all of the Hatians I speak to. As I began to watch the news and seek out information, I find that the rest of the world seems just as confusued about what to do or how to help as my Hatian friends (and I have many) are.

My initial feeling was that if I can't reach out to the people directly, at least I can reach out to my friends and other Hatians and people dealing with the affect of the quake right here in Atlanta. I found that many of them just needed to talk about the incident and what they were experiencing not knowing much about the whereabouts of family members still missing in Haiti. Perhaps it was my need to reach out and touch someone else who was hurting or to rectify my own sense of helplessness that drove me to holding a gathering and vigil that same week. What's more I felt just a little sense of hope when the people who attended extended their appreciation and told me that it actually helped. My burning desire todo something to help has not left me!

Later that week I was driven to produce a song in dedication to Haiti, "Hear Their Cry" (see video on Homepage) was a poem I wrote two years ago. However, I was pushed by my conscience to record it as a song, perhaps for my own therapy. I found that doing something about the situation in Haiti actually helps with my own healing process. We can't do anything about the past but we can sure help to recreate the stucture and give hope to the people of Haiti and the ones dealing with the loss of loved ones right here in our own backyard. If you know a co-worker or classmate that has lost someone in the desaster, perhaps givng a fruit basket or plant or card to say we care can give that person a sense of hope and suppport. I am still trying to find ways to do what I can to help for the pain in my heart is too much to bear. I can only imagine what the survivors of Haiti are dealing. No, on second thought I cannot imagine. Please do what you can to help. Donate! Donate! Donate! And keep them in your prayers! Please add your feelings, rep
